SNOW REMOVAL DECEMBER 30 & 31

SNOW REMOVAL UPDATE: DECEMBER 30 - 31

Due to a water main break, scheduled snow removal for December 22 & 23 was temporarily cancelled. During that interruption, Barrhead experienced heavy snowfall, requiring crews to reset operations and return to priority snow removal routes to ensure safety and emergency access.

Snow removal will resume Tuesday, December 30, beginning at 3:00 a.m.

Crews will focus on priority areas, including emergency access around the hospital and high-traffic downtown routes.

Downtown areas include:

  • 50 Avenue (54 Street to 49 Street)
  • 51 Avenue (51 Street to 49 Street)
  • 52 Avenue (53 Avenue to 50 Street)
  • 49A Street (50 Avenue to 49 Street)
  • 50 Street (50 Avenue to 49 Street)
  • 51 Street (50 Avenue to 53 Avenue)

Hospital area:

  • 50 Avenue & 51 Avenue (between 48 Street and 49 Street)
  • 48 Street (between 50 Avenue and 51 Avenue)

Additional high traffic areas include:

  • 53 Avenue (48 Street to 49 Street)


wednesday, december 31 - snowbank removal

Crews will move to clearing snowbanks impacting traffic flow, including:

  • Highway 33/49 Street (54 Avenue to 50 Avenue)
  • Highway 18/53 Avenue (Highway 33/49 Street to 57 Street)
  • Select downtown alleys, as identified on the snow removal map

Work is weather and equipment permitting. Residents are asked to obey posted no-parking signs and use alternate parking where required.
