SNOW REMOVAL UPDATE: ADJUSTED APPROACH DUE TO HIGH SNOW VOLUMES
WE'RE ADJUSTING HOW WE TACKLE THIS RECENT SNOW
We know snow removal is top of mind. Yes, this winter is throwing more at us in a short period than we typically see.
After several heavy snowfalls, ongoing equipment challenges, and crews already working weekends and holidays, Public Works is adjusting its approach to keep progress moving across town.
UPDATE | JAN 6
Our crew has completed areas scheduled for January 5 & 6. On January 6, crews will be moving snow on downtown residential streets and areas in the southeast of town including:
Downtown
| Southeast

what's changing
To move through neighbourhoods more efficiently:
- Monday, January 5: The snow removal crew will make two passes through Beaverbrook, focusing on widening streets and improving access. Snow will be shifted/blown, but not fully removed at this stage.
- Tuesday, January 6: Work will begin on residential streets in the southwest quadrant of town, again completing two passes per street.
- From there, our crew will continue working through all remaining residential areas, completing two passes on each street before returning later to finesse and remove snow where needed.
- Please note: "no parking" signs will not be erected to save time and permit our crew to progress through town faster. Parking will not be enforced during this new approach.
This approach allows our team to improve drivability and access across the community first, then come back for full removal once every neighbourhood has been reached.
Contractors are also assisting with snow hauling as conditions and capacity allow.
Questions? Public Works is available starting Monday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 780-674-2464.
Thank you for your continued patience.
