The Town of Barrhead's Utilities Department will continue its annual hydrant flushing program through August. This routine maintenance is essential for maintaining water quality and ensuring hydrants are fully operational for emergency use.
what to expect:
During flushing, you may notice discoloured water.
This is temporary and safe for consumption.
If discolouration occurs, we recommend running your cold water taps for a few minutes until the water clears.
Hydrant flushing helps remove naturally occurring mineral deposits and sediment from the water distribution system, and is a standard part of our commitment to providing safe, clean drinking water to all residents.
